Roscrea Hospice Notes

The response to our Party Night on Friday December 6th has been phenomenal and we wish to thank all those who have purchased tickets. Some tickets still remain and they can be purchased from Redmond’s, Castle St, Roscrea, The White House, Castle St, Roscrea and Movie Time on Main St Roscrea or from any committee member.

The party kicks off as soon as the doors open at 7.30pm with live music from the Kinsella’s, Michael Thompson, Dinny Quirke, Pauline De Feu, Eoin Hobbs and Carmel Minogue. A raffle will also take place and we have received some amazing spot prizes for the night. After the buffet the party moves to the white house with music from Tipp Off until late. We look forward to seeing you all there and once again thank you for your continued support.

Roscrea Ramblers

Last Sunday, there were two walks – an intermediate looped walk to Glendine East, led by Joe Coughlan and a long walk to the Comeraghs led by Mick Fogarty. The intermediate walk was 2 ½ hour 8 klm walk – great to see so many short walkers out - while the long walk was 3 ½ hours to Knockaifren.

Next weekend there is only one walk – an intermediate walk to Keeper Hill, led by John O’Meara – the short walkers are encouraged to go on this walk, which is not difficult. Great news for the club with the announcement that the Ramblers will be a recipient of a Roscrea People of the Year award in January next. Don’t forget our Xmas night walk for members in Kinnitty on the 15th of December – more details next week. A full schedule of walks is on our website – have a look to see what walks suit you. Membership is now due - €45 - please download our membership application from our website – for new and existing members – membership and application form to be given to Mick Fogarty. Anyone thinking of trying out walks with the Ramblers can join us for two walks without paying membership – just to see if you like it. Remember, new members must do 2-3 short walks before going on an intermediate or long walk. www.roscrearamblers.com for full details of activities or catch us on Facebook.
