Racing world mourns Lucy-Anne Stack

The world of horse racing is this week in mourning following the death of 27 year old Lucy Anne Stack, wife of leading trainer Fozzy Stack, of Thomastown, Golden.

Lucy, who was reared in Enfield, County Meath was daughter of Denise ‘Sneezy’ Foster, who is also well known in the equestrian world and a respected trainer.

Lucy’s body was found early on Sunday morning at the family home in Thomastown Castle, the Group 1 winning training yard, near Golden. The yard is run by Lucy’s father-in-law, the former Grand National winner and very successful trainer Tommy Stack.

Tommy’s son Fozzy, whom Lucy married in December 2012, is the assistant trainer at the yard and both were very well known and popular figures in and around the flat and national hunt venues of the country and further afield.

The Tipperary Star understands that Fozzy Stack was abroad at the time of his wife’s death, but has since returned home.

Lucy’s father, the late Captain David Foster, an international eventer, was just 47 when he died after his mount fell on him in 1998 in a real tragedy.Lucy, described as a beautiful girl and a real lady is survived by her loving husband Fozzy, her Mum Denise, sister Jessie, brother Nick, family and friends.
