M.C. for the evening was the Manager of Roscrea Credit Union, Brian King. Brian thanked all those in attendance for their support of the draw and their support of their local credit union. Brian King thanked Marie Carroll, Mary Crean, and Rosaleen Ryan in particular for all their help with the draw throughout the year. Also thanked was the Chairman of the Credit Union, Patsy Treacy who makes time for each draw and local photographer P.J Wright who also attends each draw. Mr King encouraged the winners to if at all possible shop local in the run up to Christmas. Brian King said that Roscrea is very dependent upon local retailers for creating and maintaining employment in the town so it was vital that where possible “we support local and that we shop local”. Brian also congratulated two of the town’s latest authors namely Liam Doran and John Lupton. To help encourage both, the credit union also gave each participant in the draw a copy of Liam and John’s new book and again credit union members were encouraged to purchase additional books from local retailers in the build up to Christmas. The Credit Union Cash Draw is non profit and all eligible members are invited to join. The next draw will take place in March. Call into the credit union or check out www.roscreacu.ie for details on how to join.
