All those involved with fund raising on behalf of young Sean Doran, headed up to the newly decorated Anner Hotel to present Sean and his family with a cheque worth a magnificent €31,756.74 last week.

The committee, along with other organisations across all communities in and around Thurles, can be rightly proud. From the door-to-door collections, the bucket collection, quiz nights, lines, tins in shops and donations from existing events, a huge effort was put in to help raise the funds.

The hard working committee would like to sincerely thank the Anner Hotel who have been more than helpful with both the fundraising and the cheque presentation nights. Massive thanks to everyone who has donated to the fund, people’s generosity has been a great help to everyone. Thanks to all who came to the Anner to show their support. Also to Marin Roberts and James Kelly for providing music on the night, with Seán James Paudie and Tom (Snr) Doran giving us a few tunes as well.

Seán had a great night playing his own box (a present from Josie and Martin they got in Australia), taking requests from the crowd, - Wagon Wheel was played more than a few times. This little man is an inspiration to everyone.

There was a great crowd present and everyone had a great night. There are videos of Sean on the four estates Facebook page playing his box. Seán was in great form all night long.
