Nenagh’s Gills Garden project gets funding

Cllr Virginia O’Dowd has welcomed €35,000 in funding for Gills Garden to develop a walled garden under the Public Area Enhancement Scheme.

“This funding will develop and enhance Nenagh Castle and will add another aspect to the town’s main tourist attraction, which has already proved to be a huge asset for the town,” she said, adding that developing the site at Falvey’s Lane was a priority under the last Nenagh Town Council and she had been very supportive of the project and pushed for the council to purchase the site.

“Gills Garden has great potential because of its location and I look forward to its opening,” she said.
