Nenagh gardai probe burglaries and thefts

Nenagh gardai are seeking the public’s help in their enquiries into a series of burglaries and thefts in North Tipperary.

An opportunistic thief entered a house at Cudville Green on Wednesday, May 21, through the back door while the owner was out gardening in the front. The thief stole a quantity of jewellery, including gold pieces valued at E600.

The same day at Coole, Ballina, the rear window of an unoccupied house was broken and the property entered. The culprits stole jewellery. A car was later stopped at Clonlara, County Clare, and the a number of people are helping the Gardai with their investigations.

Meanwhile, on Friday, May 23, thieves stole two electric fences from a field on the outskirts of Newport town. A person who grazes horses in the field had removed the horses and when he returned he discoveed the fencing was missing.

In Cloughjordan, thieves stole two heavy iron gates from their posts sometime between May 22 and May 23. The gates are valued at E500 each.
