Fianna Fáil leader Michéal Martin has called for a “fundamental review” of the ambulance service, during a campaign visit to Cashel.
Fears for the second ambulance in Our Lady’s Hospital were addressed by Michéal Martin during a two-day pre-election tour of Tipperary this week.
“We would support the idea of having ambulances in bases like Cashel. The new system is simply not working at the moment.” With the local elections looming, Mr Martin said the contest will be very competitive. “It will be challenging but we have a strong team across Tipperary. I think we will do well. I don’t have specific targets, but the early feedback is very positive.” Unemployment, health and elderly care top the list of concerns. “People are very angry with the last two budgets, and the property tax on top of that.”
