Well known local tenor Michael Molumby’s ‘Gathering’ show held recently at The Horse and Jockey proved an outstanding success with almost 4,000 Euro raised for Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin.

Michael had gathered together Susan Corcoran, Cathy Keane and Valerie O’Hanlon to perform with him on the night, accompanied by Mary Rose McNally, Margaret Butler and Paul Littleton, and what a wonderful sound they created.

The packed out concert was an outstanding success in the magnificent setting of the theatre in the Horse and Jockey, thanks to Tom and Dorothy Egan and staff of the hotel.

The event really captured the imagination and thanks to MC George Willoughby, there was a real flow to proceedings which had the audience toe tapping and humming for hours afterwards.

Sound was indertaken by Michael’s nephew Gus, while Pat Corbett videod the event.

While Michael was at the centre of activities right throughout, his wife Maria was the driving force behind it’s success with her organisational talents coming to the fore. Michael’s family members were also heavily involved including his sons Declan and Diarmuid, while family friends Ann Marie Sweeney, Cathy Russell and Celia Kilroy played big roles also.

Of course the real winners on the night were the children in need of care in Our Lady’s Hospital in Crumlin and having seen first hand the magnificent work undertaken by the staff members, Michael and Maria felt obliged to help out in their own way. The success of the night has really blown them away and they are very grateful to all those who bought tickets, attended on the night and sponsored the many different aspects of the evening.

A cheque to the value of 3,933.83 Euro, which included 500 Euro from Vadenta, was handed over to Mr Gerry Cully from Crumlin who was very appreciative of the support.
