To quote from that most famous of bards, William Shakespeare – “parting is such sweet sorrow”.

And that is what the pupils and staff of St John the Baptist Girls School felt on Thursday, June 26th. They bade farewell to Mrs. Margaret White, Deputy Principal and sixth class teacher who is retiring after thirty nine years of dedicated service to the teaching profession.

In front of an assembled audience of invited guests, pupils and staff paid tribute to Mrs White and acknowledged the major contribution made by her to the school since she began teaching there thirty five years ago. Among those present were members of the Board of Management, members of the Parents Association, past pupils of the school. A very special welcome was extended to Mrs White’s three sons, Robert, Jonathan and Evan and to other members of the White family.
