Lucky escape for two passengers - Fireman injured cutting trees

The scene near Kilshane House on the N24 Tipp to Bansha road at 1.45pm last Wednesday. A tree fell on a car hidden under thick branches.

Two people walked away uninjured but a little shocked. The N24 was the only way forward for motorists leaving Tipp Town heading towards Bansha, Cahir, Cashel and Clonmel. All other routes were blocked by fallen trees and debris. Firemen and Council workers arrived on the scene at 1.45pm and worked through the storm with trees cracking overhead and falling in the woods nearby, to clear the road. The N24 road reopened at 4.15pm
