Info on Semple and Blues sought

Local GAA man and historian Liam O’Donnchu of Ballymoreen, Littleton is seeking the assistance of the general public in putting together information on the great Tom Semple and the Thurles Blues teams which won the All-Ireland titles in 1906 and 1908.

Liam, with the blessing and support of the Semple family, is working on a book entitled Tom Semple and the Thurles Blues , the project having been initiated by Martin Semple, Tom’s son, who lives in Denver , Colorado.

The Blues were all conquering in the decades from 1905 to 1914 and Liam is interested in getting information on the players with names like Shelly, O’Brien, Mockler, Brolan, O’Dwyer, Gleeson and many more cropping up time and again. The officials of the club at the time were Denis O’Keeffe, James Kennedy and Phil Moloney. Do you know anything about these men.
