Representatives of the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) are to be summoned to a meeting of Thurles Town Council to discuss job creation in the region.
North Tipperary has regarded itself as being ‘on the hind teat’ when it comes to benefitting from foreign direct investment over the last 20 years or so. And, elected representatives have not been slow in criticising the IDA for lack of investment in the county, especially around Thurles.
Councillor Jim has proposed that the IDA be summoned to a meeting in Thurles to discuss job creation and he received general backing for his proposal at the December meeting of the local authority. Cllr David Doran seconded his motion.
