Gardai warn of forged E20 notes in Tipperary

Retailers and consumers are being warned by the Gardai to be on the alert for counterfeit E20 notes.

The Gardaí are advising that the high-quality forged notes have been making their way onto the market in six counties, inculding Tipperary. The other counties are Limerick, Cork, Waterford, Kildare and Dublin.

It is believed that forgers are using major events and festivals to pass the notes.

Retailers are being urged to check all E20 notes that they are handed, in the same way they scan €50 notes to make sure they are genuine.
