Nenagh Gardai are probing house break-in

Nenagh gardai were involved in a major drugs bust last Friday when they stopped two young adults from the Roscrea area who were believed to be on their way to Electric Picnic at Stradbally, County Laois.

The men were stopped outside Roscrea and their car searched. During the search, the gardai found cannabis, cocaine and ecstasy tablets valued at around E5,000. The two were brought before a special court sitting and charged with possession and intent to supply drugs.

Meanwhile, Nenagh gardai arrested a Limerick man in connection with an aggravated burglary in Ballyanny, Nenagh, earlier this year. This brings to six the number of people questioned over the incident which happened in January.

A 23-year-old man was arrested in relation to thefts from outside Borrisokane church on July 11 while people were attending a wedding in the town. The man, who is from Limerick, was before a special court sitting last Saturday, and charged with the alleged thefts from five vehicles.

A man in his 40s from Dublin was detained at Roscommon Garda station in relation to a series of burglaries in Nenagh, Roscrea and Newport on July 11. A file has been sent to the DPP on the matter.

The Gardai are also probing a series of thefts in North Tipperary over the past week.

Thieves scaled a fence along the M7 near Annaholty to steal three pallets of gas cylinders from yard on Sunday, August 31. The culprits then used a forklift to take the pallets to a waiting vehicle on the M7. The cylinders were valued at E1,800. Garda enquiries are ongoing.

The Gardai are investigating the theft of a power washer from a shed at Glenahilty, Newport, sometime in the afternoon of Saturday, August 30. The washer was valued at E200.
