Funds for Wetlands

Thurles Town Council has this week unanimously approved funding in the region of 35,000 Euro under the Community, Sports and Cultural Grants Scheme to Cabragh Wetlands Trust just outside Thurles town.

The funding is to go towards the acquisition of lands adjacent to their current holding which will help form part of the provision of an interpretive centre at the famous wetlands.

Cllr Gerard Fogarty proposed the funding while Cllr Jim Ryan seconded the proposal which was supported by all members.
