FF launch bid - Thurles and Templemore

The official launch of candidates for the local Electoral Area of Thurles and Templemore took take place on Friday, 21st February, 2014 in Templemore Arms Hotel.

The electoral area has four excellent candidates selected in the persons of – Jackie Cahill, Seamus Hanafin M.C.C., John Hogan M.C.C. and Michael Smith M.C.C.

As part of the launch the party honoured members from Cummana in the Thurles/Templemore area who have given outstanding service to the Fianna Fáil Party and the local community.

M.C. FOR the evening was Arthur Griffin, Chairman Tipperary Comhairle Dáil who welcomed special guest Fianna Fáil spokesman for Transport Timmy Dooley T.D for Clare and also the certificate recipients for outstanding service to the party. Among the very large turnout were former councillors’ as well as former Minister Michael Smith - father of current councillor and election candidate MIchael.

Each candidate was given an opportunity to address the audience in which they set out their stall for the forthcoming Local Election which will be held at the end of May.

In his address Timmy Dooley acknowledged the fine qualities of all four candidates citing their various achievements. He added that Fianna Fáil in the Thurles /Templemore electoral area had the strongest team in the country with the four candidates present at this function. He thanked the organising committee for the arrangements of what he described as ‘an excellent launch.’

Next on the agenda was the presentation of certificates by Timmy Dooley to over sixty recipients after which Arthur Griffin thanked everyone for attending and congratulated the members honoured.

With the main business brought to a conclusion well appreciated food was served accompanied with a live band with music provided by” Legends” from Clonmel. A great night was thoroughly enjoyed by all, with all the candidates mingling around where plenty of discussion and banter ensued from various quarters.
