On Friday 3rd of January Eircom announced that fault levels of their telephone and broadband service remain high in Tipperary due to adverse weather conditions.
There are currently three hundred customers without service, and this number could rise throughout the week if the level of sustained weather is to maintain its severity.Damage in the region has been caused by high force winds, lightning storms and flooding. Eircom has encouraged customers to report faults as soon as possible.
During the past fortnight, Eircom has restored over seventeen thousand customers across the country. However they have received over nine thousand additional faults in the past week. Due to exceptionally high fault volumes across Tipperary, it may take five to six days before all remaining faults are repaired.
Customers who are expirencing telephone and broadband issues can log these faullts on the “Log a Fault” section of their website or through eircoms automated customer service line which can be reached through dialing 1901.
Eircom’s storm damage update co-insides with Labour Senator Denis Landy’s “Be Winter Ready” campaign. Landy advises that we should all be prepared for the adverse winter weather. The campaign urges communities to pull together and be mindful of the elderly or isolated members in particular.
