Death of former TD John Ryan


Tributes have been paid to former Labour TD for North Tipperary, Mr John Ryan who has died.

First elected as a TD for the constituency in 1973 he served the constituency with distinction and was very highly regarded as a very hard working, astute and competant public representative who epitomised the virtues of integrity and honesty.

Tributes have been led by Taoiseach Enda Kenny, Tanaiste and Labour party leader Eamon Gilmore, political colleagues and oppoents including Minister Alan Kelly who described him as his ‘policial hero’, former MInister Michael Smith, Deputy Michael Lowry and Deputy Noel Coonan.
