Deputy Noel Coonan has congratulated all 10 successful Fine Gael candidates elected to serve Tipperary constituents on the new unified Tipperary County Council.
Deputy Coonan also paid great credit to every candidate who contested the local elections, especially those who were unsuccessful on this occasion.
“This has been a tough election for Fine Gael, but, nevertheless, we will have 10 committed councillors working hard for Tipperary constituents on the new Tipperary Council. Every Fine Gael candidate who contested the election fought a hard battle and must be commended for their dedication.
“Fine Gael elected representatives, in local and national Government, will continue to turn the tide for a brighter future. I know our candidates will do the best job they can for the Premier County and we will work on the issues and problems that were identified throughout the campaign.
“People are disillusioned with tough choices the Government has been forced to make and that is very understandable. We recognise and acknowledge this feedback and will move forward with our strategy to pull the country back from economic disaster,” said Deputy Coonan.
