Cashel’s Chain of Office, worn by Mayors on official occasions since 1992, should be preserved for future generations, said Mayor Joe Moloney.

Mayor Moloney proposed that the Chain be put into a secure case and put on public display in the Heritage Centre, along with Cashel’s City Charter. When the Council’s Chain of Office was stolen in 1990 artist Padraig O’Mathúna was commissioned to craft a new one. Separately, the Mayor said he looked forward to new lighting on Friar Street, and new surfacing all the way down to the Fountain on the Main Street.
