Road Repaired: Everyone is delighted that at last the very bad centre of Upper Main Street Road has been properly repaired. The very bad sections were torn up during last week and a proper tarmac surface laid down. Our sincere thanks to Councillor Michael Anglim who has been making representations to the County Council for the past year or so and thankfully he has been successful at last in getting this very necessary repair work done. Thanks also to Councillor Seanie Lonergan for bringing that

GAA: Senior The seniors suffered their second defeat in the County league on Sunday last against Aherlow. Playing with a stiff breeze, Ardfinnan began brightly going two points up before Aherlow got their first score of the match to reduce the deficit to a single point. With both teams wasting a lot of chances and only scoring two points each for the remainder of the half, Ardfinnan lead on a score line of 0-4 to 0-3. The second half began with a point from a free for Aherlow to level the scores. Now playing with the wind at their backs Aherlow took control of the match and outscored Ardfinnan by 1-4 to 0-4 for the remainder of the match to win on a score line of 1-8 to 0-8. This was a gutsy performance by Ardfinnan who were missing a number of players.
