The recently renovated Moyne Community Centre was a hive of activity on Saturday, March 21st, as it hosted the Community and Voluntary Awards.

The recently renovated Moyne Community Centre was a hive of activity on Saturday, March 21st, as it hosted the Community and Voluntary Awards.

This event was organised by the Community and Voluntary Association (CAVA) in association with North Tipperary LEADER Partnership (NTLP).

This event which recognises the work and contribution of community and voluntary groups is in its sixth year and has grown in profile and reputation over that time to being a high point in the annual calendar for voluntary groups across the Tipperary North County area. At the ceremony the following groups received awards in six categories for the quality of their contributions to local community life:

Sport : Moyne Athletic Club

Youth : Sixth Tipperary Roscrea Scouts

Environment and Heritage : Upperchurch Drombane Historical Society

Arts, Culture and Tourism : Terryglass Arts Festival

Social Inclusion and Community Activism : New Futures Farming Group

Community Enterprise and Innovation Lorrha Rathcabin Energy Team.
