It was a proud day for eight people from Tipperary Town last week who were awarded FETAC Level 6 certificates in Consultative sales.

The course saw the coming together of a unique partnership between Tipperary sales company Direct Sales Management (DSM) , The Department of Social Welfare (DSP), South Tipperary Development company and Munster HR.

Speaking about the course DSM joint Ceo Aidan Ryan said that ‘’DSM were delighted to facilitate this unique course which is one of the first partnerships of its kind in the country. The course itself involved one day each week of lectures, one day of course work and three days of hands on tele sales work in the office. Many of the participants got to work on our new E-Phone product which we developed in- house. Therefore they got to see a product in its infancy right to market stage’’.

Aidan explained that the ‘’idea for the course came about when both myself and James Edinborough approached the Department of Social Welfare with an idea for a course that was industry and market linked. We were delighted that a number of the statutory agencies such as the DSP and South Tipp Development company came on board and the training expertise of Munster HR really added to the course. We are also very grateful to Tipperary Midwest Radio who covered the awards ceremony live on the day’’.

And in further good news Aidan revealed that ‘’many of the participants have graduated to full time employment with DSM while some have opted to further their education’’. Indeed so successful was the course that Aidan said that the company hope to run a second one before Christmas. Interested participants can contact DSM directly on (062)33750.
