Launch of Roscrea enhancement awards 2015

Chairman of the "Roscrea Enhancement Committee" Brian King, launches the inaugural Roscrea Enhancement Awards" in Damer House, Roscrea.  The launch was attended by Minister Alan Kelly, Representatives from Roscrea Tidy Towns, Junior Tidy Towns, RSU, Tipperary County Council and members from the many local resident associations in the community.

The historic surrounds of the Roscrea Castle Complex provided the ideal backdrop for the recent launch of the Roscrea Enhancement Committee Awards 2015.

Conducting the launch in the Annex of Damer House was the Chairman of the local “Enhancement Committee”, Brian King. Brian said that “the awards are really a catalyst for getting local resident associations and local businesses mobilised and motivated to really get behind the Roscrea Tidy Towns effort this year and play a key role in making a positive difference to how our town looks and feel.” Brian spoke about the five categories and seven awards that make up the Roscrea Enhancement Awards and which focus particularly on the estates around the town and also on the town centre through encouraging local businesses to get involved.The categories for the awards are as follows. The first is for the overall best estate which has a first, second and third prize. The second prize is sponsored by the Chamber Of Commerce and will be presented to the “Best Presented Business Premises”.
