Cashel’s Sinn Fein Cllr Martin Browne has called for measures to be taken for a Ambulance Service of some sort to be based in Cashel after two separate incidents in the town over the past weekend.

Last Sunday saw a major crash on the motorway just outside the town when up to six cars were involved, this follows on from an incident on Friday when an elderly woman was struck by a car on the main street.

It took 35 minutes for the Ambulance service to arrive on the scene. “In the meanwhile this lady was laying on the street in severe pain and distress. Cllr Browne has called this “a crazy situation when you consider that two minutes away is Our Lady’s Hospital”. He has asked the Health Minister “to stop playing local stroke politics around the country and look into supplying services like an Ambulance to Hospitals like Cashel before there are any major incidents and fatalities.”
