Cllr Joe Hannigan has been told by Nenagh Municipal District Council thay they have received no update on their request for funding to carry out traffic calming measures on the road through the village.

“Maybe we need to raise the ante. Maybe nice guys don’t win matches,” Cllr Hannigan said.

The Independent councillor has maintained that the council seemed to have an “inability” to work with the NRA on small, issues.

The issue was raised Cllr Ger Darcy, who was told by area engineer Michael Hayes that the council was “chasing it up”.
