Retirement Mass For Bishop Willie Walsh

On Friday last, family, friends and neighbours of Bishop Willie Walsh gathered at Camblin Church to celebrate the life of the recently retired Bishop. Camblin of course is the home Church of Bishop Walsh and was certainly a fitting venue for such an important occasion. In his homily at the concelebrated Mass Of Thanksgiving, the Bishop spoke of his debt to the people and values of his native place.

These thoughts were reflected in the singing and the great joy of those present for the uplifting occasion. After the mass, the people of Camblin and surrounding area, made a special presentation to Bishop Walsh and wished him well in the years ahead. Afterwards an open invitation was extended to all those present to join Bishop Walsh and his family and friends at what proved to be a very enjoyable social occasion in the Auburn Lounge, Roscrea.
