The Gardai in Nenagh are investigating a series of burglaries at industrial units and houses in Roscrea and outside Nenagh.
A premises at Ashbury Industrial Estate in Roscrea was broken into on March 26 / March 27 and a transformer taken. The unit is undergoing refurbishment at present.
A car was removed from the yard at Newport waste water treatment plant on March 29. The culprits forced their way into the facility and discovered the keys of the car in the canteen. They then drove the car through two electric fences before abandoning it outside and running away. The car was damaged in the incident, which was reported to the Gardai early on March 30.
An off-duty taximan had E200 stolen from his car along with a coin dispensing machine after he parked it outside Coopers Bar, Birdhill, at 6pm on March 29. The driver returned at 9.45pm and discovered the back window broken.
Meanwhile, two youths were chased from the scene of an attempted break-in at Ballyhall, Roscrea, in the early hours of March 28. The youths were chased down the street but managed to escape. Meanwhle, there was an unsuccessful attempt to enter a house at Rosslands, Roscrea, on March 27 / 28.
A front window of a house was broken during a break-in at Patrickswell, Carrigatoher, Nenagh, on March 28. However, it is not known if anything was taken in the incident.
