If a cat had a kittens a certain Minister would claim it, Cllr Semaus Morris told Cllr Phyll Bugler at Nenagh MDC’s March meeting.

He was responding to claims by Cllr Bugler that she had been snubbed in favour of a local Oireachtas member when it came to replying to emails from her on a drainage issue.

“Certain envelopes with the harp get precedence. There is a pecking order,” said Cllr Morris.

Cllr Bugler replied she was not in any “pecking order” and was entitled to a response at least at the same time as an Oireachtas member.

District administrator Rosemary Joyce assured her there was no pecking order and if what she said had happened it was inadvertent.
