WHERE’S WALLY?, the world’s favourite children’s book character in striped shirt and black-rimmed specs is once again travelling the country, including a visit to ten different local businesses in THURLES!
Launching at the beginning of The Thurles Festival of Gaelic Sport, the campaign runs from 4-12 July. Those who find him can win prizes, including stickers, books and more. The search is on!
From Bookworm at Liberty Square to Naomi’s Cafe at Westgate, from Stakelum Office Supplies at Parnell Street to Photostation at Friar Street, Wally can be found at lots of local businesses and even Thurles library! But can you spot him?
Anyone who wishes to participate can pick up a “Find Wally!” search list with the names of all the businesses, and collect an “I found Wally” card when they spot Wally. Collecting cards and handing them in at BOOKWORM BOOKSHOP LIBERTY SQUARE THURLES will win Wally stickers and an entry for other, larger prizes to be drawn at a Where’s Wally? party on Saturday 12 July. The grand prize includes a copy of Where’s Wally? The Search for Lost Things and a copy of Where’s Wally? The Phenomenal Postcard Book Two presented in a limited edition Where’s Wally? bag.
In celebration of Wally’s longevity and popularity, Walker Books is teaming up with the Booksellers Association’s IndieBound ‘Get Local’ campaign and 100 independent bookshops across the country, including BOOKWORM BOOKSHOP here in THURLES, to have fun and encourage people to visit local businesses. There is no charge to participate, and the game lasts throughout Independent Booksellers Week continuing until 12 July. For more info 0504 22257 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
