Come along and have your say.
On Monday, September 23rd, a public meeting on the issue of class size will be held in the Anner Hotel, Thurles at 8p.m.
All T.D.s, local and county councillors have been invited to attend.
However, it is expected that the largest attendance on the night, will be the parents and teachers, who are increasingly frustrated by the attempts of the government to place the burden of the recession on the shoulders of the young.
Educational research has continually shown that smaller classes lead to better learning outcomes for all students.
It positively benefits disadvantaged and minority children.
Smaller classes allow teachers more time to work with individuals and allows teachers to use teaching methods which simply would not work with larger numbers.
Ireland has the second highest class sizes in the EU - this meeting hopes to ensure that this is one area in which Ireland will not reach the top of the table.
All interested parents, teachers and community members are invited to attend this very important meeting.
Your attendance will send out the correct message to the necessary bodies.
So come along to the Anner Hotel on Monday evening at 8:00pm and lend your support to the fight against bigger class sizes.
