Hanafin angry at treatement of public servants who opted to move

North Tipperary County Councillor Seamus Hanafin has described as ‘extremely shabby’ the treatment of public servants who had opted for a transfer to the Garda Vetting Unit in Thurles and Tipperary, only to see the proposal shelved by the department a few weeks later.

The Tipperary Star understands that a number of council officials were interested in making a move to the Vetting Unit and had made their feelings known to management under the proposal, but were then left in limbo after the department pulled the plug on the initiative.
