Almost one hundred supporters from JK Brackens travelled to Derry by bus and car to cheer on their Club and they did a mighty job.

Noel did a magnificent rendition of his own composition ‘The Day I Scored the Winning Goal’ and the Set Dancers were the last performance of the night and their dancing was a wonderful and fitting grand finalé. The music was also top notch. Needless to say when the results came in and JK Brackens were declared winners of both Recitation and Set Dance the applause and cheers from the supporters went on for a long time and ‘Slievenamon’ rang out throughout ‘The Venue’.

It was a fantastic achievement for J.K. Brackens.

A big, big thanks to all who supported the competitors. The people who came to Clonmore on Friday morning last to give them a grand send off, especially the school children from Clonmore National School. To everyone who came out to welcome home the local heroes on Sunday night and those who prepared such a wonderful ‘Homecoming’ party. To Joe Barry and the pipe band members and all the member of the JK Bracken Club who helped out in many ways. Thank you all very much.

The hall was packed to capacity as tributes were paid to the competitors and the Club on the night by Canon Eugene Everard, Mr Ml Ryan the Lord Mayor of Templemore, Mr Seamus O’Dwyer, Chairman of JK Brackens, Mr Seamus McGrath from Munster Scór, Mr Sean Nugent, Tipperary GAA Chairman, Ms Mary Bourke, Secretary of Scór County Board and Mr Tim Flyod, Newport Club and County GAA Secretary.

Congratulations also to Sinead Grant, Newcastle Club, who won the All-Ireland solo singing - well done Sinead. Newport Ballad Group gave a very polished performance on Saturday but unfortunately were not winners on this occasion. Well done to them on their performance and once again congratulations to them on being Munster Champions.

Congratulations to all the winners, to the JK Brackens Scór Committee and Club and all those involved and a big thanks once again to all who supported JK Brackens to such a great success.
