The President of the GAA, Liam O Neill, will officially launch the Thurles Sarsfields International Hurling Festival in Croke Park on Monday night next, May 21st.
Teams from Europe, England, Northern Ireland, the U.S. and the Republic of Ireland will be taking part in the event which will be held on the week-end of the Munster Hurling final, July 13th and 14th.
This year’s festival is on a much larger scale than the inaugural event last year. It has five distinct elements. Twelve teams, including Kilburn Gaels of London, last year’s winners, will compete for the Tom Semple Cup, with those eliminated after the round-robin series, engaging in the Jackie Carew Cup.
