Work Will Commence On Templemore Flood Relief Scheme This Summer

Noel Coonan TD has warmly welcomed confirmation from Minister of State Brian Hayes that €6 million has been ring-fenced for the River Mall (Templemore) Flood Relief Scheme in this year’s budget and work on the project will commence this Summer.

On Noel’s invitation, the Minister of State at the Office of Public Works Brian Hayes visited Templemore today Monday with OPW officials to provide a progress report.

The news was warmly greeted by all present at an informal meeting in Templemore Town Hall.

Deputy Coonan said: “Works will start this Summer and the total envelope is €6 million over three years. The project will take approximately two years to complete. This is welcome news to all those affected in The Mall and Blackcastle Road areas.

“Works will be carried out directly by the OPW ensuring that local employment, business and traders will benefit from the project.
