Nenagh Sailor Wins ISA Award

The Irish Sailing Association (ISA) held its 6th Annual Awards Ball last Saturday, March 3, in the Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire, County Dublin, to honour contributors to the sport in 2011.

The Irish Sailing Association (ISA) held its 6th Annual Awards Ball last Saturday, March 3, in the Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire, County Dublin, to honour contributors to the sport in 2011.

Nenagh’s Michael McCarney of Lough Derg Yacht Club based in Dromineer, won the ISA Volunteer of the Year Award, sponsored by A Stitch in Time, for his contribution to his local club and the impact this has had on local sailing.

Winners were chosen from 24 nominees in five different categories for the prestigious ISA Awards. Minister for Sport Leo Varadkar was there to present the awards at the biggest social event of the year for the Irish sailing, motorboating and windsurfing community.
