Nobody wants to accept responsibility for the refurbishment of Tipperary Town Courthouse, it has emerged this week, with South Tipperary County Council, the Department of Justice and the Court Services Board all washing their hands of the listed building.

Nobody wants to accept responsibility for the refurbishment of Tipperary Town Courthouse, it has emerged this week, with South Tipperary County Council, the Department of Justice and the Court Services Board all washing their hands of the listed building.

The Courthouse, which has not been used for some time, due to it’s delapidated condition, is an iconic building in Tipperary Town having been purpose built as a courthouse, many generations ago.

However, it has fallen in disrepair in recent years and is now deemed unsuitable for use until such time as significant investment is made to bring it up to standard.
