Local Minister, Alan Kelly, has welcomed over €80,000 allocated to North Tipperary County Council for flood works in North Tipp.

More than €47,000 will be spent on piping and road gullies spanning 400 metres on the Grange Road in Ballina, something that Minister Kelly says is badly needed.

The other funding (€33,408) will construct a 300mm diameter pipe for flood work in Clareen, Cross, Moyaliff & Ballycahill.

“This funding from the Office of Public Works is vital,” stated Minister Kelly.

“We are all only too aware of the damage done to local infrastructure because of the very severe flooding over the last two years. The Grange road in Ballina was particularly affected. I have been working hard to try and ensure our local infrastructure is protected from flooding in future. This funding represents an investment that should ease the local difficulties in regard to flooding.”
