The recent death of Joan Whelan (nee Carroll) of 55 Monakeeba, Thurles and formerly of Templemore, who had just celebrated her 50th birthday, has left a deep void in her family. Joan was diagnosed with a terminal illness only some months previously.
Joan's husband Danny, a local taxi driver, and her children Marie, Fiona, Danny Junior and Thomas decided to care for Joan in her own home. The home environment and loving care and attention of her husband, children, family members and friends, contributed greatly to Joan's comfort in her final days.
Interment took place in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Thurles following her Requiem Mass at the Cathedral of the Assumption. The attendance at both were testament to the popularity of the Whelan Family. Joan will be truly missed by her family and all the extended Whelan and Carroll families.
Sincere sympathy is extended to Joan's sorrowing husband Danny, her children, sons-in-law John Paul and Dan and her five grandchildren Danika, Nikesh, Rihanna, Tianna and Kacie, relatives, neighbours and friends.
