Nenagh Gardai investigate assaults and burglaries

The Gardai in Nenagh are appealing for the public’s help in investigating an assault in Newport in which a man suffered facial injuries.

The assault happened on July 23 at the handball alley. It is understood the man was knocked unconscious in the attack.

Meanwhile, the Gardai in Roscrea are investigating a separate assault on a female that happened at around 10am on the same day.

There were a number of burglaries in the area over the past week, with one householder on St Conlon’s Road, Nenagh, confronting two males wearing black gloves who attempted to enter his house at around 4.40pm on Saturday, July 25, through a back door. One male had dark hair while the other had fair hair.

A quantity of cash was stolen from a cigarette machine and gaming machine during a break-in at the Hogan Stand pub in Roscrea on July 28, and a man at Foxhall, Newport, had his cast iron chairs and picnic table stolen from his front lawn on July 26.

A man was arrested under the Public Order Act on July 22 following a disturbance at Silver Mews, Silver Street, Nenagh.
