A man has been arrested and charged by gardai in relation to a drugs seizure in Roscrea last week. The arrest follows the discovery of cannabis plants valued at E800 in the Ardnegreine area of the town on Wednesday, October 15. The find was made during a search as part of the Garda anti-drugs campaign in the town.
Three other drug arrests were made by Nenagh gardai over the past week in separate incidents around the town.
A man in his mid-30s was arrested and charged following a search at Stereame on the outskirts of the town at around noon on October 15 in which a quantity of cannabis was seized.
That same afternoon, a man in his 40s was arrested and charged in connection with the discovery of a quantity of amphetamines at Cormack Drive,
At around 10pm on Friday, October 17, a teenager was arrested and charged after he was searched at St Conlon’s Road and was found to be in possession of cannabis.
Meanwhile, Roscrea gardai are looking for help in tracing three females who surrounded a woman in her 70s on Main Street some time between 10.50am and 2pm on October 15. The woman was distracted by her assailants who stole her wallet containing E50.
Earlier that same day a yard to the rear of Bergins shop in Moneygall was broken into and garden strimmers and copper cylinders valued at E800 were stolen. Anybody who may have noticed anything suspicious in the early hours of October 15 is asked to contact the Gardai.
