Deputy Noel Coonan has welcomed the extension to the Local Property Tax paper filing deadline until next Thursday, November 14. He said Finance Minister Michael Noonan has acknowledged peoples’ concerns by extending the deadline.

“This means people have a week longer to choose their method of payment for the LPT,” explained Deputy Coonan. “I lobbied my Fine Gael colleague Minister Noonan for this extension due to concerns amongst Tipperary constituents about payment of the LPT.

“This decision has been taken partly due to the volume of queries regarding LPT payment methods from people who filed their 2013 return on paper.

“The Revenue Commissioners has also extended the opening hours of the LPT helpline (1890 200 255) to deal with queries from members of the public. The helpline will be open from 8am to 8pm from Wednesday, November 6.

“There are three weeks remaining until the online filing deadline of 27 November,” said Deputy Coonan.
