Thurles Meeting on Neighbourhood Watch

On Wednesday 20th November 2013, at 7.30pm a public meeting will be held at Thurles Garda station, for interested parties in running a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme with a view to renewing contacts and updating details with existing schemes, and commence new schemes. The meeting is aimed at residents of Thurles Town residing primarily in estates or streets where there is residential housing situated. The aim of Neighbourhood Watch schemes is to build relationships between the Gardaí and local communities, to reduce the opportunity for crime, to reduce fear of crime, to give crime prevention advice, to encourage local communities to report suspicious activities
