Tipperary People Shortlisted For Volunteer Award

Two people from Tipperary have been shortlisted for an award in this years Panadol supported Volunteer Ireland Awards.

Two people from Tipperary have been shortlisted for an award in this years Panadol supported Volunteer Ireland Awards.

Denis Heffernan from Emly and Cel Fennessy from Clonmel are among the 31 volunteers shortlisted for the annual Awards which celebrate and recognise volunteers across Ireland.

Denis has been shortlisted in the Animals and Environment category for his work with Tidy Towns in Emly over 25 years and since winning Best Small Village in Ireland in 2009 he has travelled the country providing advice and support to other communities.

Cel is in the Children and Youth category for her leadership and contribution to the Brownies and Irish Girl Guides both in Clonmel and at a national level.

An overall winner and category winners in the Panadol supported initiative will be announced on Wednesday, December 5th at a gala event in Dublin hosted by RTE Presenter Claire Byrne.

Derek Fanning, Manager, South Tipperary Volunteer Centre congratulated Denis and Cel on making the shortlist and said this year Volunteer Ireland had received the largest number of nominations ever.
