TEMPLEMORE’S Anglers had a recent meeting at which the club agreed to make the following statement regarding a surprisingly sharp drop in the level of water in Templemore Lake:
“Due to a huge number of phone calls made to numerous committee members on August 22 regarding the drastic drop in the level of water remaining in the lake the club contacted all parties concerned and quoted some of the club rules. It is a club rule/policy that all fish and wildlife be unharmed and protected on Templemore Town Lake.
Templemore and District Anglers wish to make it known that they had no involvement in any decisions /discussions that were made in regards any works/planning on the lake.”
Club Secretary Brendan Sage, stressed that they share the public’s “huge concerns”, which were raised over the level of water remaining in the lake for the safety of the fish and wildlife. Additionally, “promises have been made by the employers and employees carrying out the works that no fish or wildlife will be harmed while works are ongoing.”
