Late Francis Minogue - An Appreciation

It was with great sadness that the town of Roscrea and surrounding area learned of the untimely death of Francis Minogue who had just celebrated his 60th Birthday.

It was with great sadness that the town of Roscrea and surrounding area learned of the untimely death of Francis Minogue who had just celebrated his 60th Birthday.

RCTLC through its Chairman, John Lupton have expressed its profound sympathy to his wife Ann, son Francis, daughter Catherine and all his family on the death of Francis who was a founder member of RCTLC. RCTLC’s Chairman John Lupton who was a classmate of Francis in National School, recalled that Francis died 18 years to the day of the town’s Public meeting in the Pathé Hotel, which initiated a successful community campaign for a swimming pool and leisure centre for Roscrea. That meeting took place on September 8th 1994 and Francis died on Saturday last September the 8th.

John vividly recalls Francis giving him a personal commitment that night of September 8th 1994, that he would do everything he could to ensure a swimming pool and leisure centre for Roscrea.
