The very active summer of walking, mountaineering and rockclimbing continues for Mid-Tipp Hillwalkers. On Sunday next, July 8, we have our annual length of the Galtees walk, which this year is led by Ollie Walsh who can be contacted at 085 2700051. This challenging walk should take at least 9 hours to complete. As a result of the Galtee Walk there is no 11am walk from Cashel on Sunday next.
Also rockclimbing, which is open to all, continues throughout the summer leaving from the Horse and Jockey on Tuesday evenings at 6.15pm, with newcomers always welcome to just turn up on the night.
Finally, the 15th annual Autumn Charity Challenge 9 ( in aid of visually impaired people) this year takes place among the unmatched scenery of the Burren.It offers all comers, of all fitness levels an opportunity to sample the very best this world famous area. This a great opportunity to explore the Burren on a long distance walk or a nature walks exploring the flora and fauna, or with an introduction to caving and rockclimbing.
The event, which is based in Lahinch from Fri Oct 12 to Sun Oct 14, is open to all those wishing to support the cause of blind people.
