Could this be the first ever Thurles flag?

It was a thought which occurred to local man Michael Loughnane who recognised that there was no official Thurles flag.

On special occasions in Thurles, such as visiting dignitries, it is always the Tipp flag which flies overhead the Council chamber.

With this in mind Michael set about designing a flag.

The flag contains the old Thurles crest and an image of the Suir bridge and Cathedral.

How does one go about getting this recognised?

Does the power lie with the elected representatives?
