MODEL and horsewoman, Esmé Mansergh Wallace is trading riding boots for stilettos as she gets set to compete for the Miss Ireland 2012 title at the end of the month.

Tipped as one of the firm favourites, Esmé is representing the Sunday World newspaper in this year’s competition as Miss Sunday World - the first brunette and the first girl outside of Dublin to ever win the title.

No stranger to the Miss Ireland competition, Esmé represented her native county as Miss Tipperary last year and reached top 15 in the final.

This year, Esmé is hoping to go all the way and take home the Miss Ireland crown, with a year’s experience under her belt as Miss Tipperary and a brand new title to her name.

Esmé has already made a name for herself the Irish modelling scene, signed as a model with the Hilary Thompson Model Agency and Assets Agency in Dublin.

She has also secured a contract as the in-house model for new clothing company, miinto.ie.

Since winning the Miss Sunday World title, Esmé is a regular in the Sunday newspaper and will appear in the paper for the next year as their representative.

Upon being crowned Miss Sunday World, Esmé said; “I am overwhelmed that I have been chosen and will now go on to compete at Miss Ireland 2012. It is such an honour to be one of the finalists for such a renowned and respected competition.

“The response and support for my recent success has been amazing. I can’t thank everyone enough for getting behind me and I hope to do my hometown, Tipperary, and the Sunday World, proud at the Miss Ireland final.”

Esmé is a qualified beauty therapist, and likes to keep fit in her spare time by riding her horses - another passion of hers.

The equine enthusiast, has represented her country on horseback across the water in the UK and hopes to go on and do it once again, if she were to secure the Miss Ireland crown, and make it to the Miss World competition in China this coming August.

If you would like to secure Esme a guaranteed place in the final 15 of Miss Ireland you can vote for her as Miss Photogenic on the Miss Ireland website until Friday the 27th.

Having fought off hundreds of applicants for the Miss Sunday World competition, Esmé will have no problem competing against the 35 Miss Ireland finalists, at what promises to be a glamorous event, on April 28th at the D4 Berkeley Hotel.
