The 2011 Tipperary Rose, Clonoulty lady Noirin Ryan and Tara Talbot the 2011 Rose of Tralee were accompanied by 12 other roses from the 2011 Rose of Tralee International Festival on a trip to Belarus to volunteer in the Adi Roche aided Vesnova Childrens Mental Asylum.

The group headed out to Bealrus on Monday and will spend some time visiting areas affected by the nuclear tragedy.

The CCI - Chernobyl Children International, bring aid and medical assistance to hundreds of children in Belarus that were affected by the Nuclear Tragedy in Chernobyl 25 Years ago.

Adi Roche is accompanying the roses on the trip and they will spend their time assisting with the children, giving them some precious one to one human contact which they are so deprived of.

All of the roses have been busy fundraising for the trip with many events held in each of the participating counties.

They hope to raise over E20,000 which will go directly to assist the children.
